La Casa Del Formaggio’s Homestyle Fresh Cheese is a young cheese that is creamy in texture and has a milky fresh taste. It is most delicious when fresh. This is a very traditional cheese that is commonly used in Italian quiches such as Pizza Ripiena or Pizza Rustica, especially at Easter time. We also find it sometimes used in South American dishes as it is reminiscent of “queso fresco.”
Homestyle Fresh Cheese has a high melting temperature so it won’t melt when cooked. It is best served crumbed and fried, baked into a quiche, or simply as is as a table cheese.
