This is the product that started it all! Rosa Cicchiello started making this Ricotta in the back of the family’s continental deli to sell in the shop. After a short while, the popularity of this product became overwhelming and the family decided to focus on cheese full time.
This ricotta is soft and creamy with a delicate texture and pleasant slight caramel flavour. La Casa Del Formaggio’s fresh ricotta is different from traditional ricotta because it is made from full cream milk – not from whey. This ricotta is a fresh as you can buy with only 10 days shelf life from when it is made. Nothing is quite like this full cream milk ricotta!
It has a delicious subtle flavour and a creamy texture that allows it to be used as a versatile ingredient for sweet or savoury occasions. It is well suited for eating as is, for baking in lasagna and ravioli and for making creamy whipped desserts and pancake fillings. We find it is also very commonly spread on bread with a drizzle of honey as a quick snack.
